Verify before you buy

Verify before you buy

Five minutes of checking can save you from a fake slab.

The checklist

  1. Type the grader's web address yourself. Don't use a QR code, a link in a listing or a link a seller sends you.
  2. Look up the cert number on the grader's own verify page.
  3. Compare the photos and label on the grader's record with the item in front of you: grade, date, mint mark, designation and label style.
  4. Check for duplicate cert numbers. The same cert showing up in two listings is a red flag.
  5. Look at the holder: edges, seams, label font and hologram. If anything looks off, stop and ask.
  6. Buy from sellers with a return policy and keep the receipt in your portal.

Choice never fetches, copies or stores anything from a grader's site. The button below just opens the grader's own page.

"Verified" in your portal means the cert record was checked. It isn't an authentication or an appraisal.
